For dairy farmers & beef genetics companies

Everyone chooses the bull. Nobody finds out how it went.

Beef genetics in a dairy herd are chosen on a promise about how the calf will perform later. Some of those calves leave at four days. Some are reared to weaning and sold on. Some never leave at all. Whichever way it goes, the weights end up wherever the animal went — and neither the farmer who chose the bull nor the company that supplied it ever gets to see them.

KaiProva keeps one record per animal, carried from one pair of hands to the next. Where that record can travel, the progeny story travels with it.

An independent standard for the chain it serves, modelled on Bonsucro and FSC.

The same question, from both ends

How did that bull’s calves actually do?

The farmer choosing straws in July and the company that sold them are asking one identical question. Neither can answer it today, and the answer sits in the same place for both: with the animals, wherever they ended up.

Live now for animals you keep · building across a handover

If you’re choosing the straws

Rear and finish them yourself and you can already see how each bull’s calves are tracking — that works today. Sell them on and the story currently stops at the gate. That’s the part we’re building.

Building

If you supplied the genetics

Beef-on-dairy sires are chosen on calving ease, gestation length and beef merit — and validated against progeny data that mostly never comes home. We can send it back: dated weights against the sire that produced the animal, and what the carcass did where the processor takes part.

Building

If you bred the bull

Studs and breed societies sit upstream of all of it, with the same gap. A sire’s reputation rests on progeny that scatter across a dozen operations and are never heard from again.

How this works

We hand back phenotype. We don’t score anything.

What comes back

Phenotype, not an evaluation

Dated weights against the sire that produced the animal, and what the carcass did where the processor takes part. Attributed, sourced, and returned to you to do what you do with it.

Where the line sits

Evaluation stays yours

KaiProva doesn’t calculate breeding values, doesn’t rank sires and doesn’t publish a genetic merit figure. We carry your information the way you report it, with your name and version attached. If we ever started scoring, we’d be competing with you — and you’d be right not to put anything on the rail.

Who decides

The farmer, every time

A provider sees data because a farmer has said yes, scoped to the sires you registered — not the whole herd, and not your competitors’ progeny. Consent is revocable, and every access is logged where the farmer can see it.

A chain where the data only travels one way isn’t a value chain — it’s an extraction. What comes back is what makes it one. You put in the sire information only you have. What comes back is progeny performance you could never assemble on your own, from herds you have no other line of sight into.

We’re building this in the open. Everything marked Live now works today. Everything marked Building is being shaped with the people who’ll use it — if that’s you, tell us what you need and it changes what we build next.
